ESTATE LAWS

I have recently discovered that the Estate Laws in many states allow an executor an unlimited amount of time to settle an estate and distribute the proceeds. In fact, the executor can fail to execute the estate at all and never distribute the proceeds if he so chooses.

I am wondering if any of you readers have had this experience with estates where you have been an heir and never received any proceeds from the estate because the executor never closed the estate and never distributed any proceeds?
